B.A.(Programme)

The new BA Programme came into force with effect from July 2004, when it replaced the BA (Pass) course. The structure, scope and flexibility of this course is such that, it can either be a terminal degree that equips students for a profession, or an enabling degree that is a prelude to higher studies. The departments of languages, humanities, social sciences and commerce will co-operate in this endeavour. The B.A. Programme students of Gargi College have an association of their own, called “NAVDRISHTI”.

Mathematics and Computer Discipline in B.A Programme

If your concepts and basic principles of Mathematics have a sound base, then this course would be an enjoyable experience for you as the syllabus has been given a practical orientation. This subject finds extensive application in advanced courses like Computer Applications, Operational Research, Statistics and Computer Analysis. It will also be useful for various competitive examinations. The Department offers Computer Applications as discipline course, alongwith Mathematics and also, as an application course in B.A. Programme.

German Discipline in B.A Programme
 
German is offered as a Discipline in B.A Programme, which means, that the Students, who opt for German  study it for next three years. No Prior Knowledge of German is Required. Students will get to learn from the basics. It is an asset to know a Foreign Language in today's world of globalisation. If you want to be a real player in the 21st century, learning German will give you the edge you need.100 million people worldwide communicate in German! German is spoken not only in Germany, but also in Austria, Hungary and Switzerland as the official language. After learning German for next three years, a Student can do a post-graduation in German Language. One can go to Germany, Austria, Switzerland or Hungary for higher studies, There are a lot of Scholarships too, that these countries offer. And there are no dearth of jobs in the job market with the knowledge of German language. With Knowledge of German, one improves ones employment opportunities. Germany has the largest economy in the European Union and the third largest in the world. German, for sure, puts you in high demand. If you are looking for employment in United States, knowing German can give you great advantages. German companies account for 700,000 jobs in United States, and US Companies have created approximately the same number of jobs in Germany. Apart from this learning German opens up a lot of job avenues for you such as jobs in the Tourism industry, Hospitality industry, German (Lufthansa), Austrian, Swiss and Hungarian Airlines and also in German, Swiss, Austrian and Hungarian Embassies, Teaching Jobs in Schools, Colleges and MBA Institutes like Amity and Symbiosis Universities etc. There are also Jobs with German Language Skills as Interpreters and Translators, in German Bank (i.e. Deutsche Bank). One can also appear for the Indian Foreign Services Examination with specialisation in German Language. There are a lot of job opportunities in a lot of Indian and German Multinational Corporates such as Siemens, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen etc.
